Jerry Hardesty

Jerry Hardesty is a licensed private investigator and President of Hardesty Private Investigations. He is a retired police lieutenant with over 25 years of police experience. While working for the Canton Township Police Department he served in various positions including the Operations Team lead with the western Wayne County SWAT team, 3 years with the Detective Bureau and 14 years in command before retiring in 2013. He also served in Emergency Management where he wrote the emergency operations plan for Canton township, and conducted many training and emergency scenario and training drills with township elected leaders and staff, and the Plymouth-Canton school administration and teachers.

Jerry joined MCPI in 2013 and has been an active member, including serving on the Board of Directors, and as MCPI President since October 2016.

Jerry the completed Police Academy at Washtenaw Community College and the Police Staff and Command program at Eastern Michigan University. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Science degree from Concordia University.

Jerry is married with 2 sons, 7 grandchildren, and 2 dogs. He lives in Brighton Michigan.  He is an active member of the Brighton Rotary club and a high school Lacrosse referee. He enjoys fishing, bird hunting, kayaking, and spending time in the Traverse Bay area
